One of the biggest keys to making consistently powerful contact is learning how to get to your lead side before impact. Hitting the middle of the face, not hitting it fat or thin, compressing the ball… they’re all directly tied to getting into your lead side properly.

That’s why we’re introducing the Pressure Plate’s Power Wedge.

The Power Wedge provides an incline for your trail foot that teaches you the feel of activating the lower body correctly. The better you can load into your trail leg, the more power you can generate and the easier it is to get to your lead side early (think: throwing a ball).

Activate Your Lower Body

Like a starter's block, the Power Wedge allows you to push off your trail leg in transition to help you generate effortless power.

Pressure Plate FAQ's

How is the Pressure Plate different than other golf balance boards?

There are a few advantages to the Pressure Plate. One, the Pressure Plate stays level at address, rather than forcing you to be tipped to one side before you start your swing. Two, the Pressure Plate has spikes on the bottom to prevent it from sliding around during the golf swing. Take a glance at videos of other boards online and you’ll often find them rotating and spinning around during the golf swing - the Pressure Plate does not. This connection facilitates the transfer of pressure in the feet to the ground, otherwise known as ground reaction force.

Will the Pressure Plate promote a sway?

No. Our goal in designing the Pressure Plate is specifically to get golfers shifting their pressure instead of their center of mass (weight). The Pressure Plate is a training aid that can actually fix a sway. While hitting off the Plate, we want golfers to feel their pressure moving into their feet while keeping their torso relatively stable.

Can I hit drivers with It?

It depends on your height and the width of your stance. Most women and juniors will be able to use a driver without an issue. Men over 6 feet who want to hit drivers on the Pressure Plate may want to have their feet hang off the edges of the board. With this said, the beauty of the board is that any progress made with irons will translate to the driver.

The board is one inch thick - won't I chunk everything after stepping off?

We see different lies on the course all the time (e.g., lies above the feet and below the feet). Adding an inch for a few shots on the range won’t make a world of a difference. We certainly don’t recommend that a player hit hundreds of balls on the Pressure Plate per day; this will likely produce diminishing returns. We believe a player looking to work on their pressure shift should hit 3 balls on the Pressure Plate, then 3 balls without it and repeat this sequence for only as long as they can maintain their concentration.

Teachers you your pressure points

Trains you what you where the pressure points in the backswing and the downswing. You will no longer have to think "is this where I should feel the pressure" because like a professional trainer the Pressure Plate will tell you. You just take your stance, start your backswing and downswing and the plate will guide you to the proper positions. You will know the proper pressure because you will feel it without question. Then you just emulate it on the golf course. What a difference it is to know you’re doing it right instead of thinking you might be doing it right!

Thanks so much, Ron. Appreciate you leaving us a review. All the best to you! -WhyGolf Team

Great tool for pivot and weight shift!

Using the Power Wedge in conjunction with the Pressure Plate is a great way to feel the proper backswing pivot/loading to the inside of the trail leg and weight shift in the downswing. I use it with my own swing and with my students to feel and understand proper body motions. Excellent and highly recommmended! 👍

Please read the Guide to Weight Sift

The pressure plate does a great job at reinforcing the feel of a proper weight shift. It does an even better job of reinforcing the feeling of generating power from the ground by shifting the pressure from your trail foot to your lead foot.

Power Wedge and Pressure Plate

I previously had purchased the Pressure Plate and instantly I found that my swing bottom was on the target side of the golf ball from the very first swing. I had hoped it would help me stop hitting "thin" shots and "fat" shots and it became so simple and so natural feeling to use this that it was hard to believe.
When I saw the new Power Wedge advertised I instantly purchased it and found that this made another leap forward for me. It becomes instinctual to move in a better manner with no conscious thought (for me this is a big advantage as formerly I was thinking too many things).
I urge everyone to obtain these great tools as they really do as promised with barely any learning curve. You can actually hit balls with them!
You will not be sorry you purchased them and your ball striking will immediately improve with great compression as well.

Thanks so much for leaving us a review, Lawrence. Glad the Power Wedge is working out! -WhyGolf Team
